(Dr. Name or Practice) is a trusted orthodontist in (city). Orthodontics is a highly specialized field that is centralized around diagnosing and the treatment of both dental and facial imbalances. Treatments allow us to bring the teeth and jaw back into an aesthetic balance through correcting the misalignment of both the teeth and the jaw. Misalignment of the jaw also can cause difficulties in speech, chewing, and causes problems with managing good oral hygiene.
The dentist recommends orthodontic screening of children around the age of 7 when the permanent teeth are coming in. Diagnosing and treating any irregularities with the teeth and jaw early can prevent future development problems in the mouth. Of course we can treat anyone at any age. It is never too late to benefit from the delightful improvements of facial and teeth correction.
Overcrowding of the teeth is the most common problem that we treat. Nature doesn’t always allow enough jaw space for all of the teeth to sit in a perfect straight line and the teeth will make space where ever they can. Other orthodontic irregularities include anteroposterior deviations, such as underbites and overbites, spaces between teeth, and other jaw misalignments that alter the facial features in an unappealing fashion. We have the orthodontic treatment for whichever teeth or facial correction you may need.
The optimal treatment plan utilized by our orthodontist may include one or more of the following therapies.
Dental Braces: This includes the a series of brackets placed on the teeth that are attached by an archwire. The dental braces may be made out of ceramic, metal, or other clear material. These dental braces are adjusted over a period of time until the teeth have aligned to the desired position.
Retainer: Once the teeth have been manipulated to the final position, a retainer will be worn until the underlying bone structure has reformed to hold the maintained position of the teeth.
Headgear and face masks: This equipment may be used to correct irregularities such as an overbite or underbite. The device is placed on the head and connected to the teeth braces create alignment of the jaw.
